Classes & Workshops

pottery teachersWe have been teaching pottery in our workshop for over fifteen years and quite a number of our original students have been with us throughout. We have a wealth of experience in teaching ceramics in a wide variety of contexts and with students of all backgrounds and levels.

Between the three of us, we have a breadth of knowledge of different styles and methods of making, and we really enjoy helping people to learn pottery, whether they are complete beginners or practising artists learning a new skill. We work in hand-building, moulding and throwing, and we use both earthenware and stoneware clay.

We offer regular classes as well as one-off  ‘taster’ sessions which can be on a one-to-one basis, or in small groups of up to eight people.

These sessions can be tailored to your requirements, for example, specifically throwing or hand – building,  or it could be a mixture of a variety of techniques. We can also offer to pre – make small plates which would be ready for you to try out some decorative techniques. We can fire and glaze your work and post it out to you.
